4:00pm First Sunday Science Parade
We want Dinosaur costumes, Unconventional vehicles, Steampunk, marching bands, and Scouts

Calling all dinosaurs!! Whether homemade or store bought- goofy or realistic.  Calling all SteamPunks! Wear your best SteamPunk gear on your coolest Victorian vehicle 🎩. Calling all Unconventional Vehicles. YES!! Unicycles, tanks, tricycles, recumbent bikes, light-up cars, Chia vehicles.. YES!! We want to see them!! Wear your costumes and march in the kickoff parade.

LineUp at 4pm. Parade starts at 4:30pm in front of the the Flowery Branch Farmer’s Market Pavilion. North Gwinnett High School AirForce JR ROTC leads the parade.  Flowery Branch Police Cadets guide the parade. The parade winds through historic Flowery Branch and ends at the Community Room.

Expert Evening Keynote Speaker: Dr. John Demassa
“Do Dinosaurs Taste Like Chicken?”

Dr. John Demassa is an Organic Chemist recruited by a Team of scientists. The Paleontologists recruited Dr. John Demassa to help determine HOW the dinosaurs discovered by Dr. Mary Schweitzer in the early 2000s were still “gooey.” Was it a hoax? Were tests run incorrectly? Were the animals mis-identified as dinosaurs? What were the applications for plastics and other synthetics?
